San Cisco are an Australian indie pop band that formed in 2009 under the original name of King George, in Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia.

They’re the first Australian band signed to Fat Possum Records (Dinosaur Jr., Black Keys). Their cover of Daft Punk’s Get Lucky went viral last year.

LOVE
This impressed me way more than that Daft Punk cover. This is dark but infectious dance rock music that gets me excited for their album next year.

Raye is a 16 year old singer-songwriter from South London.

At 16, she’s quickly becoming the fastest rising R&B pop star in London with a debut EP, Welcome To The Winter, on it’s way next month.

LOVE
Groovy, soulful R&B from such a young artist is rare these days. This is a perfect song for a lazy, rainy weekend.

Theophilus Musa London is a Trinidadian-born American rapper from Brooklyn, New York City. Kanye is Kanye.

London built his following with mixtapes and is now moving onto full albums. He’s immensely respected by other artists and creative influencers.

LOVE
This is a standout, if laid back, track from London’s album VIBES, dropping next week. Definitely spin the whole album.

Melker’s artist tribute mashups are legendary. This is from Triller (ode to Jackson’s Thriller). Check out Skeetwood Mac, Skeetles, Ballin’ Oates, or Red Hot Trili Peppers.

LOVE
Melker’s my favorite mashup artist (alongside Girl Talk) and this is my favorite on Triller because of the room he gave MJ verses compared to the others.

I love Erykah Badu and Jillian carries that torch perfectly. I think the world needs more funk and soul in it, and LION BABE seems to agree.

Mazde (pronounced ‘Masdi’) is the brain child of Bonn, Germany born electronic producer Matthias Dierkes.

This 20 year old has 1M+ Soundcloud listens and is featured as the first release from Stoney Records, a hugely popular electronic website turned record label.

LOVE
Le Mar kills it on this track, and you get a sense that Mazde is just scratching the surface of his potential.

Black Coast (aka Stan Rapoport) is a Brooklyn producer, teaming with fellow New Yorker M Maggie Miller here.

Rapoport was a member of synthpop standouts Prinze George (on Musicgeeks here) and went solo, this being his first release.

LOVE
I love M Maggie’s smoky vocals on this synthie goodness. It reminds me of the smooth, airy vibe I got from Kavinsky’s work on the Drive movie soundtrack.

Two tracks, both dropped last week, are gaining serious momentum this week, but little’s known about Leon himself.

LOVE
This track and Coming Home are magical soul-heavy R&B songs, and bring you straight back to the 50’s. Few young artists making this type of music.

Terror Pigeon! is a collective that was created in 2008 by then-SUNY Purchase student Neil Fridd. I think they’re in Nashville now.

They signed to David Byrne’s Luaka Bop label for their debut album and subsequently played SXSW, CMJ, and most of the DIY venus in NYC.

LOVE
This is their first release off an upcoming sophomore album and it’s indie synth-pop goodness all around.

Niia Bertino is a jazz-vocalist-turned-stylish-pop-singer from New York.

Niia’s recorded and toured with Wyclef, who featured her on his 2007 single, Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill). Her debut EP Generation Blue is due end of month.

LOVE
Niia’s just bursting with talent, and this feels like her career moment, having matured and carved out a really unique sound and perspective.

Valerie Teicher (aka Tei-Shi) spent her early years in Columbia, then Canada, and now resides in Brooklyn, New York.

LOVE
This is beautiful electro-pop and Tei-Shi’s vocal are mesmerizing. Also, her moniker is a play off of “Jay-Z”, which is hilarious.

Tove Styrke is a 21 year old pop singer from Sweden.

After competing on Sweden’s Pop Idol, she signed with Sony and released a debut with the likes of Lykki Li and others.

LOVE
The tell-tale Swedish indie-pop thing drenched in reggae beats is hard not to love. Styrke’s on a roll this year, excited to hear more.

Pearl is a mysterious new producer who I can’t find any personal info about. First time for everything!

Pearl (male/female? dunno) just released a debut 10-track project called Open on JMSN’s new label. which is pushing 200k listens on Soundcloud.

LOVE
The entire project’s worth a listen, with impressive vocal cameos throughout and heavy R&B/hip hop influence. This track is by far my favorite.

These two are still rather unknown artists. Like, I found Brad on LinkedIn and Candice on Instagram.

LOVE
This track steps carefully, leaving room for Candice’s vocals to stand out right before Brad’s beats splash in. Super luscious song.
